Calls have been made for a council to take action after it was announced that a town leisure centre is to close.
Melton Leisure Centre, in Asfordby Road, will shut at the end of the month.
Melton Brooksby College said it could not afford the £100,000 a year needed to keep it open.
The sports hall and squash courts have been open to the public for more than 20 years. They are used for indoor football, tennis, badminton, basketball, netball, and by martial arts clubs.
Margaret Roskell, ladies captain of Hamilton Tennis Club, which has up to 40 juniors who practice at the leisure centre each Friday, said: "Where will they go? There is nowhere else.
"I don't blame the college. Melton Borough Council has done nothing over the years to provide sports facilities, relying on the college to do what it should have been doing.
"There are some school halls but they are not always available when they are wanted and there will be much more competition to book them.
"The council needs to provide facilities in the same way Charnwood Borough Council and North West Leicestershire District Council have wonderful leisure centres for their residents."
Council leader Malise Graham said he would be discussing the implication of the leisure centre's closure with officers and that the issue would be discussed by Melton Community Partnership tomorrow.
He said: "It is a challenging situation that we will have to look at."
The college said it had kept the leisure centre open as long as it could for the benefit of members and casual users but that anticipated budget cuts meant there was no longer the money available to run it.
It plans to turn the leisure centre into a teaching area.
