Tennis Leicestershire has over recent months been looking to introduce a system of District Representatives to support the work of the Club Projects committee.
We are pleased to report that we are now in a position to move forward with this initiative and would like to clarify how this will work in practice.
We have divided the county into ten districts based on established geographic boundaries and each tennis club has been apportioned to the relevant district.
We have allocated a representative to each district and, where there is only a relatively small number of clubs in a particular district, we have allocated a representative to work across two areas.
The breakdown of clubs into districts and the District representatives is as follows:

As you will see, we have not at this stage appointed a district representative for the Melton and Rutland area. We are very keen to appoint someone in this area and if anyone from the relevant clubs would be interested in taking on the role then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
The role of district representatives is very straight forward and will be as follows:
To communicate with clubs in the district on relevant activities organised by Tennis Leicestershire such as the Senior and Junior Awards evenings, Club Forums and any LTA initiatives that are being rolled out in the county.
To represent the views of clubs in the district to Tennis Leicestershire to ensure that the county is kept aware of the views of member clubs on any relevant issues.
We would very much like to stress that club officials are still very much able and encouraged to contact Tennis Leicestershire Directors and other committee members or the local LTA County Team on any issues. It is important to emphasise that the district representative role is being introduced to enhance communication channels and not to replace existing means of communication.
The district representatives will be contacting clubs shortly on a number of issues and please feel free to provide any feedback.
