Westfields Tennis Club were celebrating recently after being awarded the Lawn Tennis Association's Clubmark status.
Westfields have become the twenty first club in Leicestershire to achieve Clubmark. Westfield had to meet forty nine criteria, including coaching for all ages and abilities and the opportunity to play socially or competitively and child-safeguarding measures.
Paul Sheard, LTA Tennis Development Manager for Derbyshire and Leicestershire commented:
“I would like to congratulate Westfields on achieving clubmark accreditation. Greg Hollins has done a fantastic job pulling together all the evidence required to meet the tennis clubmark criteria and show that they are meeting the quality benchmark set out by Sport England. It’s been a great effort by the club and its volunteers and demonstrates their commitment to provide the best possible opportunities and environment for the local tennis community”.
A Clubmark plaque was presented to Greg Hollins and George Lambie, Club Chairman by the Tennis Leicestershire Chairman, John Chapman, during their open day on the 25 June.
