PHOTO'S FROM THE EVENING ARE NOW AVAILABLE TO VIEW ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE
The Awards Evening on 9th February was well supported despite the unpleasant weather conditions on the night. In excess of 200 tennis people from all around Leicestershire gathered in the appropriately named Honours Suite at the Leicester Tigers to witness the award winners of 2011 being presented with their trophies, and the winners of various leagues collect their certificates, as well as to enjoy a lively and interesting talk by Andrew Castle. It is very satisfying to be able to celebrate our successes in such an enjoyable manner.
The proceedings were conducted by Mark Cox (President), John Chapman (Chairman) and Mike Harrison (Vice President of Tennis Leicestershire), ably assisted by Jean Green, Blair Grubb and Neil Phillips. Mark Cox welcomed the audience and gave a brief overview of the successes of 2011, followed by Andrew Castle’s amusing and informative look back to his playing career. Mike Harrison presided over the 2011 Awards, Claire Oliphant presented the Greenshires Cup, John and Doreen Hunting the Anthony Hunting Cup, and the evening was brought to a conclusion by the presentation of the league trophies and certificates by Andrew Castle, Mark Cox and Mike Harrison.
