Thursday, December 12, 2013

Leicestershire Lawn Tennis Club enjoyed success at the British Veterans Team Championships.

All five teams in action were victorious; adding to what was an already impressive collection of titles earned over the past 20 years.

In the past two years, the club has won 11 national titles, with five of their teams going on to represent Great Britain in European competition.

Over-60s team member Richard Tutt said: "The success shows the depth and strength of the seniors' playing section."

The Over-60s squad continued their winning run in the Midlands League with a hard-fought 9-3 victory against Warwickshire at Solihull.

Although the women split their games 2-2, the men managed to win three games, while the mixed won all four.

The next challenge will be the County Challenge Premier competition in the New Year.
