The 2014 Fallows Cup Final was between Leicestershire and Lutterworth for the second year running.
The Lutterworth boys- Alex Simpson and James Rollison, gave an impressive performance against Niraj Mavani and Rohan Bassi winning 6-2, 6-1.
The Lutterworth girls - Megan Simpson and Morgan Williams shot ahead in the first few games but then the Leicestershire pair of Martha Thomas and Jess Buchanan settled down to take the match 6-3, 6-2.
Just like last year, it all came down to the mixed doubles.
Leicestershire got out of the starting blocks the quickest taking the first set 4-6. Lutterworth dug deep to even the match and it once more came down to a 3rd set match tie break. It was neck and neck all the way with Lutterworth holding their nerve to finally win the match. The final score was 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (8).
Special mention should be made of Martha's performance in the mixed doubles- nerves of steel in her first performance in a Fallows Cup Final.
Congratulations to all players but especially Lutterworth who so narrowly missed out on winning last year.
