Great British Tennis Weekend 2014 Club Offer

Thursday, January 09, 2014

Why get involved?
Our mission is to get more people playing tennis more often and supporting venues to attract and retain members is one way we can achieve this. In 2013 we ran the Great British Tennis Weekend comprising of 39 free tennis events across Britain which saw over 7,500 people take to the courts. Half of the participants were new to the sport or played less than twice a year, and we believe that given the right experience on court in the right environment these players could easily be converted in regular participants and club members. We are therefore looking to co-ordinate a series of these events all over the country in 2014.

What we will offer you
Your event will be advertised as part of a national marketing campaign.

We will be developing a national marketing campaign for 2014 aimed at getting more people playing tennis more often. Within this marketing campaign we will be heavily promoting the four open day weekends meaning if you run an open day across one or more of these dates we will help promote it for you.

Free access to promote you event on a new website
We will build a dedicated website and booking system allowing you to advertise your event and take bookings on the sessions within it. We’ll be driving as much traffic to this website as possible through the marketing campaign, our email databases, social media channels and through our stakeholders and partners. This system will have an admin section for you to create your event(s) and allow you to take bookings on the sessions you run.

Free access to all the potential customer data collected through the booking system
The contact details you collect through this booking tool will mean you immediately have a source of potential customers to promote your membership and programmes to following the event. We’ll also provide you with mechanisms to collect participant data on the day providing you with a single contact database, or the means to export them into your current system if you already have one.

Free access to running an open day guidance including marketing, PR, on and off court activity
We will also provide you with a resource pack containing guidance on how to run an open day. This will include items such as lesson plans, activity schedules; follow on activity offers to get customers back to your venue, marketing and PR toolkits.

Access to professionally designed marketing materials you can customise
There will also be a range of marketing materials designed and made available for you to customise and print via www.mytennistoolkit.com so you can promote your event locally.

What we need in return
To access these resources all you need to do is run an open day event at your venue on one or more of the weekends we are promoting. The event will need to be free of charge for the public to try out taster sessions and you’ll need to upload your event info and activity schedule to the website to advertise it and take bookings. We also suggest there should be equipment available if attendees don’t already have their own.

What next
If you think your venue might be interested in taking part you can let us know now via the LTA website
