Following Martyn Whait and Tim Jamieson nominations for the LTA's prestigious Aegon National Tennis Coaching Awards: Martyn for Disability Coach of the Year and Tim for Apprentice Coach of the Year. Both were announced as winners at the evening that took place on the 10 May at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton.
Martyn has done an outstanding job over the last year coaching James Shaw and Anthony Cotterrill who are on the Tennis Foundation performance programme and is currently the Head Coach at the Loughborough Disability network, which is one of the leading disability centres in Great Britain. Martyn is also a former GB National wheelchair coach.
Apprentice Coach Tim Jamieson has doing an outstanding job at Loughborough LTC following his transition from player to coach and a shining example to other trainee coaches in the county.
The LTA 2014 Coach of the Year award will be compiled of all the winners of the these awards and announced and awarded at the British Tennis Awards in December.
