The Leicestershire Ladies kicked off the week in Cheltenham with a fantastic win over a very strong Essex side. The pairings of Victoria & Emily and Charlie & Corrine both did extremely well to win two rubbers each. Becky & Christina also picked up a rubber, on Christina's debut at county week!
Despite great play & team spirit the next three days following with losses to Hampshire (3-6), Northumberland (2-7) and Lincolnshire (3-6). This included returns to the team for Jen & Lottie, as well as 9 tough sets in one day for Tory & Becky! On the final day we were matched against our local rivals, both playing to avoid relegation. However tied at 3-3 after two rounds it was already decided that both Leicestershire & Nottinghamshire would be relegated to division 4. Therefore this tie was left to be continued next year...The hot weather made for an extremely enjoyable week of tennis - with some very interesting tan lines!
