Boston High School Team

A team from Boston High School has recently taken part in the Aegon Team Tennis Schools Senior Students National Finals. Having competed against schools in a local league, the girls went to Bolton Arena to contest the final against 7 other top schools in the country.

As top seeds, the team of Danni and Ashleigh Frankish, Ailsa Linnell and Andrea Jackson, easily won through their group beating Cheltenham Ladies College, Framlingham College, Suffolk and Durham Johnston Comprehensive. Their opponents in the final were Greenhead College, a sixth form college from Huddersfield. After the doubles, the rubbers were even but Boston soon took command of the match, winning 3 out of the 4 singles rubbers to make the final score 4-2 and Boston High School the National Champions for 2009.

Danni and Ashleigh then competed in the mixed competition alongside Andre Clark and James Fairweather representing Boston Grammar Schools Federation. These matches were tightly contested and resulted in Boston winning two matches and losing one, all on championship tie breaks. This put them in a 3 way tie but unfortunately Boston were placed third in their group on count back
