We had a good weekend. Sussex was always going to be the group winners as they were the better team by some distance.
However the interesting issue from my point of view (as Age Group Manager) was doubles. Out of the 7 rubbers we won against either Cambs or Bucks all 7 were singles. Meaning we lost 4 out of 4 doubles matches against teams that we were as good as if not stronger!! On this particular weekend it did not cost us but it may be a problem in the future.
Certainly from an Age Group Manager's point of view I intend to get the girls together more often in the Winter and concentrate a little more on doubles.
Eastgate Tennis Club proved to be a nice venue and we enjoyed the local support.
