10U Girls

Qualifiers The girls travelled to Norwich and had a very strong team consisting of Caitlin Amdor, Annabel Hristova, Viviana Muci, Mika Stojsavljevic and Lola White and dominated their Group on Day 1, with 8-0 wins over Suffolk and Norfolk, dropping only 6 games across the two matches.

Day 2's Semi-finals, Middlesex faced Cambridgeshire, where Middlesex were hoping to avenge a friendly defeat earlier in the year. Middlesex girls were pushed hard with Caitlin coming through in 2 tie-breaks to claim Singles 1. Routine wins for Lola and Mika ensured Middlesex a place in the finals.

In the Finals, Middlesex faced Essex. Essex took the first singles 4-1 4-2 and take the lead. Middlesex hit back with Lola and Mika again proving their strength in the singles. A doubles of Lola and Caitlin took Middlesex into the National Finals with a 4-2 4-1 win in the doubles.

FINALS

The National finals were held again in Sunderland. After competitive but dominating wins against Lincolnshire, South Wales and Kent on Day 1 and Day 2 in the Round Robin stage, Middlesex earnt their place against Avon for the 2018 National Title.

On Sunday, Avon took the lead with a 4-0 4-2 win in the first Singles. Lola fought hard in the second singles from 2-4 down to take the second set 5-3. Unfortunately, despite fighting until the end in the tie-break Lola just missed out 11-9 to give Avon a 2-0 lead. Mika kept Middlesex's hopes alive after the third singles to make it 2-1. Trying to take it to a shootout, Caitlin and Lola teamed up together again for the doubles. Avon proved too strong and took the doubles and the Gold. A great achievement to come home with the silver medal.

10U Boys Qualifiers

Middlesex Boys travelled to Woodbridge to try to qualify for the finals, with a team consisting of Ruben SInanyan, Andrew Cutocheras, Trian Lakha, Thomas Le Franc, and Kristian Tuma Espinoza.

On Day 1 the boys overcame Suffolk with some tough matches 6-2 and dominated Norfolk an 8-0 win. This earnt Middlesex a place in the Semi-Finals to play 2nd place Essex on Day 2.

It was not to be this year for the boys and they missed out in the semi-finals to eventual champions Essex. Whilst taking every match to a tie-break, they couldn’t convert and lost out 8-0. Facing Cambridgeshire in the last match of the weekend, the boys finished in fourth place.
