I’m delighted to welcome you to the Northumberland Lawn Tennis Association website. You will find news, details of events and other information relative to Northumberland and its tennis community. For example 'The Northumberland Open', which is one of the oldest tournaments in the nation or the 'Sport Newcastle', which has been running for over 125 years along with other events running across the county.
You may also find news about our High Performance Centre (Northumberland Tennis Academy), which is the only one in the North East of England. The Northumberland Academy was formed in 2004 and became a High Performance Centre in 2007. Headed up by Chris Sanderson it provides a comprehensive coaching programme for talented junior players in the county aged 5-18 with players performing successfully at national and international level.
Furthermore the website includes details and/or links to national information from the Lawn Tennis Association.
Initially we have kept the information provided fairly limited because we both need and want your help to develop the site over the coming months. To keep it fresh we would like your input with,
- News items and photographs of successes and local stories.
- Suggestions for items/areas you would like us to include in the website. For example a list of organisations from where Clubs can seek funding.
