The Annual Schools Tennis Tournament was hosted at Frome Selwood Tennis Club for players in the local schools in years 3 & 4. Five schools participated entering a total of fourteen teams of four. After three hours of tough tennis, both singles and doubles, Vallis and St Johns came head to head in the final with St Louis, Trinity and Christchurch following closely behind.
All 56 participants played hard throughout the afternoon resulting in Vallis team, consisting of – Josh, Harry, Mae and Kc battling it out for the winning title against St Johns team of Kieran, Onni, Beth and Poppy. St Johns stole first place after an exhilarating match 4-2, they will now go on to compete in the County Finals held at Millfield School later this year. This exciting day was supported by SASP and the LTA, Head Coach Jack Shepard from Frome said “this tournament is something the coaches look forward to every year, it is such a rewarding day to watch children from the local schools achieve so much in their first ever tennis tournament”.
