Following meetings of Frome Town Council and of Frome Selwood Tennis Club the Park Tennis Courts Project now has the green light to proceed. The plan is to place the contract to build in the next few weeks with a target of March 2016 for completion. This means that from next Spring Frome will have three brand new, all weather, acrylic coated hard tennis courts that can be booked by members of the public for £5/court hour.
‘We are delighted that all our fundraising efforts and planning for these new courts, in partnership with Frome Town Council, is now coming to fruition. From Spring 2016 members of the public will be able to book courts, explore or re-kindle their interest in tennis, enjoy what is a very sociable and fun sport and all at a very realistic price’ said Mark Brierley, Vice Chair of the tennis club. ‘Tennis is a game that can be played by all ages and all levels of ability and is a great way to have a work out too. With these new courts we are hoping that Frome will become a truly tennis active town’.
