Compete regularly at West Worthing Club this Summer!

Our Summer 2014 season kicks off with West Worthing’s Grade 4 Easter Junior Tournament. With all the mini-tennis events, plus junior events up to and including 16 & Under, this tournament takes place from Sunday 6th to Saturday 12th April 2014.

The two May Bank Holiday weekends will have exciting competitions at West Worthing Club with Grade 4 events on both weekends. From Saturday 3rd till Monday 5th May the club continues to hold their Junior Open. This tournament will include Mini Red, Mini Orange, 12 & Under and 16 & Under events.

The second Bank Holiday weekend sees the Mini Masters competition. This tournament has been moved to allow a greater number of entries in all mini tennis age groups so let’s make the event the biggest yet and put the dates in your planner today. The second Bank Holiday is Saturday 24th May to Monday 26th May 2014.

With renovations scheduled to improve our grass courts starting in August, there will be three mini grass court festivals over the summer. These events are great for children, helping to develop their grass court game and skills. With loads of space around the courts, the parents and grandparents are able to sit back and relax, watching the children play. These festivals are on the 17th May, 8th June and 29th June so make sure you book you place and enjoy playing mini tennis on the grass.

New for this season is the introduction of one-day Grade 4 competitions taking place on numerous weekend dates at West Worthing Club. With these events going towards the summer leaderboard standings; LTA ranking and LTA rating, these competitions have many benefits for the players where they should be playing two or three matches during the day.

The Sussex Open Tennis Championships has attracted hundreds of players in the previous years, from all over the region, to provide a great competition for all players from Mini Red to 18 & Under. This Grade 3 competition in 2014 is running from Sunday 10th August until Saturday 16th August and, like in previous years, it will run alongside the AEGON British Tour which this year has a Grade 1 Men’s event and a Grade 2 Ladies.

For all those players competing at West Worthing for the first time, we extend a very warm welcome and trust you will enjoy playing at our events against hundreds of players from across the South East that regularly compete at the club.

All Mini Tennis players receive a certificate for playing in our events. Winners and runner-ups will be awarded with medals at all Mini Tennis events unless it is a festival event, when every player will get a medal for participating.

In all Grade 6 yellow ball matchplay events, players are guaranteed to play matches against the same LTA rated opponents.
