David Lloyd Cardiff's Annual Tennis Club Championships Finals Day, sponsored by Christopher George Jewellers had another fantastic turnout. The tournament was contested over two months by over 200 members in 16 seperate events including an Open and an Over 50+ singles and doubles event, meaning it is the largest internal tournament within David Lloyd.
Katherine Maddock-Lyon felt the finals day was a fantastic climax of an exciting club championships. 'It was an exciting culmination with great support for all the finalists. The finals included current members of our U12 squads acting as ball kids, while members of the coaching team umpired the matches.'
Jordan Helyer and Alex Oelmann won the Men's and Ladies 2011 Open titles respectively. Jordan then teamed up with James Griffin to take the Men's Open Doubles title, while Alex also enjoyed a double success in teaming up with Hayley Story to win the Ladies Open Doubles title.
