Tennis fever is sweeping across Flintshire this summer with the launch of junior and adults' coaching sessions at three different venues and the refurbishment of the tennis courts at Holywell and Buckley Leisure Centres.
Whether you are new to the game or are looking to get back into tennis there are opportunities to play and receive coaching at Buckley and Holywell Leisure centres. Additionally there are junior coaching sessions on a Friday at Deeside Leisure Centre for primary school aged children. All coaching is provided through Mold Tennis Club and costs only £2.50 a session.
Coaching takes place on Saturday mornings between 10am and 1pm for children and adults in Buckley, and between 1pm and 4pm in Holywell. Further details of these sessions are available by calling Vicki on 07732 497048.
To celebrate Wimbledon, from Sunday 23 June for four consecutive Sundays , two courts will be available free of charge in Holywell and Buckley between the hours of 3pm and 5pm. These will need to be booked by calling the centres directly.
Councillor Kevin Jones, Acting Cabinet Member for Leisure, said ''This is an exciting development for tennis in Flintshire. The refurbished courts offer an excellent surface for tennis and it is hoped that the facilities will inspire all ages to pick up a racket and have a go. We are delighted to be working with Mold Tennis Club to provide coaching at the three venues which many juniors and adults have already been enjoying and we have room for even more to join in.''
