VOLUNTEERS WANTED!!!
This regional series of tournaments will provide the opportunity for many athletes to participate in local competition. Those that play will be of all abilities and many require extra support both on and off the court to ensure that their competitive experience is a positive one. Many athletes who compete in these tournaments will have the opportunity to be selected to represent Great Britain in Special Olympics European and World Games and the top players in INAS elite level International competitions.
Each regional tournament will be held over a weekend at an indoor venue and there will also be LTA Licensed Officials working on all the matches but we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers aged 14 or over with an interest in tennis, to help players on court.
No experience is necessary and the role will involve the following;
Escort players on to the correct court from the court holding area
Assist players to be ready to serve or receive
Ensure that the court is clear of any tennis balls prior to the start of each point
Ensure players take a break at the change of ends and take on fluids when needed
Change the scoreboard at the change of ends
Escort players from the court back to the court holding area when match is complete
Volunteers will be required on the days of the tournament from 8.30am to 6pm. Each volunteer will receive a free t-shirt & sweatshirt and lunch & drinks each day.
Without the help of willing volunteers, many of the athletes would not be able to compete, so your support is vital for them. If you are able to volunteer your time at your local tournament, please complete the reply slip and return to the appropriate tournament organiser. Click here for Reply Slip.
