Attend a 4 hour Coach Education Workshop with world-renowned coach and educator Peter McCraw. The workshop is designed to professionally develop and up-skill coaches of all standards. Sessions are interactive and will be tailored to the needs of the group. The workshop will cover the following:
• Body-Part Dominance (BPD)
Learn how to test the body's dominant rotation preferences and link this to developing sound technical fundamentals in your players
• Fundamental Assessment Template
Technical Assessment outlining a step-by-step method for evaluating all strokes. Teaching tests and progressions outlined to change and reshape a players technique.
William Winston 2.30 - 4.30pm - £30
An Olympic sport psychologist and ex tennis coach with clients ranging from GB Rowing and GB Canoeing to Team GB in 2008, and Paralympics GB as they prepare for 2012. He specialises in tuning the key relationships that underpin performance, primarily the player – coach partnership, but also the vital role parents plays with younger players.
At the World Class Performance Conference 2010, his presentation on Powerful Coaching Relationships with Jess Ennis and Toni Minichiello was highly acclaimed. His sport psychology work also includes projects with UK Athletics, Badminton England and UK Sport. Corporate clients range from The Cabinet Office to The Royal Shakespeare Company as they prepared for the opening of their new theatre. He is also an accredited psychotherapist and sport psychologist.
Over 2 hours topics will include:
• Gain more perspective on your own sports coaching style.
• Explore the common parenting pitfalls.
• Define what positive parenting looks like.
• Find solutions for high pressure tennis parenting situations.
• Increase understanding of the relative perspectives of both coaches and parents.
Workshops are on and off court presented in a dynamic setting. Participants will receive written notes and have an opportunity to ask question and interact with players and coaches.
