Warwickshire's Anna Kirk traveled to Australia for the Easter holidays, Anna's mother kindly provided a report to Warwickshiretennis.net on Anna's Down Under Adventure.
"Traveling to Australia for the Easter holidays meant that Anna missed playing in the local tennis tournaments and as she is very keen to play at the moment I thought I would book her into a tournament in Perth where Anna did very well.
Anna entered the 10 and Under girls singles against 11 other girls at the Brixton Street Tennis Centre, Beckenham, Perth.
Anna played very well battling against stiff opposition, the heat and playing longer matches than she is used to. In Australia, 10 and Under play 1 set to 8 games over 3/4 days (with green balls). Anna won all her round robin matches and went on to win the final 8-5. To make it even more exciting Alicia Molik came to watch her match! Alicia was a family friend of Anna's opponent in the final."
Congratulations to Anna from everyone at Warwickshiretennis.net. If you have any tennis stories like Anna's please send them into the County Office and we will be more than happy to feature them on the website.
