Free Tennis For All In Coventry

Anyone who wants to play tennis will get the chance to pick up a racket for free as Broadgate Square will be home to a number of pop-up tennis courts on August 15.

As part of ‘Join in Coventry’s Sport Week’ from 9am-4pm in Broadgate Square, Lawn Tennis Association coaches will be on hand to help anyone who wants to have a go in the tennis zone.

Everyone is invited to pick up a racket and get involved, test their speed of serve, attempt to improve their accuracy by hitting targets and have a go at the mini version of the game no matter what their age or ability.

LTA Tennis Development Manager for Warwickshire Jayne Ashton said: “We are keen to show that tennis is easier than people think. There are loads of opportunities available to play locally at clubs who will be offering the first session free to those who want to play more.

“Our mission is to get more people playing more often and so I hope this will help people realise what a great sport tennis is and find a sport for life.”

In a busy week for tennis in Coventry, the activity in Broadgate is followed by the Great British Tennis Weekend with free tennis at War Memorial Park on August 17 and 18 from 10am-4pm.

You can book online at www.allplaytennis.com/TennisWeekend or turn up on the day for family tennis on mini courts, LTA Mini Tennis for children, Cardio Tennis – a tennis-based fitness workout – and adult coaching.
