The South Warwickshire Summer Tennis League presented a top Administration Award. The trophy was the “Millennium Scroll” for the best individual Administrator of 2013 in the League. This trophy was awarded by the League Secretary Corin Bishop whose personal choice was Wilf Chan of Aston Cantlow Tennis Club. Wilf had been a captain and the contact for HDA for the last ten years and is one of the longer serving members of the league in this position. He took over these duties in 2004 from a previous recipient of this award Dave Pitcher who was given the same honour in 2001. This makes Aston Cantlow one of only three clubs to win the honour more than once (Bidford 3 and Littletons 2). Wilf had an impeccable record this year and over many of the other seasons. He has led his club admirably and helped rebuild the squad to its current position and thoroughly deserves this award.
The League will also be holding the Annual Inter League Charity Cup Final followed by the above award and the Summer League Winners Presentation Ceremony next Sunday, 1st September, 2013, at HDA Redditch Tennis Club, Batchley, Cherry Tree Walk, Redditch. B97 6PD. This is an inter-league match between Summer League Champions Stratford-on-Avon and Leamington Spa representing the Winter League. The winners will donate a £100 cheque from the Summer League to a charity of it's choice. Also held at the same time will be the Summer League's Junior Cup Final between current champions Henley-in-Arden and hosts HDA Tennis Club. All spectators and supporters welcome with a free buffet to follow.
