National Award For Warwickshire Coach

Edgbaston Priory/Lordswood School Tennis Club's Stuart Maidment has been voted Aegon Coach of the Year in a ceremony taking place at the O2 Arena, London.

Stuart has had a hugely successful 2013, attracting 70 new players on to his Tennis Xpress course by using Amazon Local for bookings. He also runs an outreach programme for Edgbaston Priory giving people the opportunity to try tennis that otherwise would not be able to.

Stuart was also one of the coaches who ran the hugely successful School Zone at the Aegon Classic in the summer, giving hundreds of school children the opportunity to play tennis. And if that wasn’t enough, Stuart successfully completed his Master Club Coach qualification within the last 12 months which is the highest level of LTA qualification. A great achievement, congratulations Stuart.

At the awards ceremony a Aegon representitive said "We’re proud to be able to sponsor these awards. Well done to all three winners.

As the Lead Partner of British Tennis, we’re helping to transform the future of the sport. We're supporting Britain’s top young talent, backing our national teams and supporting tennis tournaments across Britain, including the Aegon Championships at The Queen’s Club."

Congratulations Stuart and here's to another successful year in 2014.
