Match report +60 Warwickshire v/s Northumberland From Captain Roy Meddings
Last match of 2016 at home-Priory.
Lying 3rd in the table, equal on points with Durham (2nd), but down on Rubbers.
I could only get 2 players from our excellent team last week.
Put together a team on Monday, by Friday 2 pulled out. I am still injured, so no help there
I called on 2 more at short notice Pete Sutton ( a new team mate) and Dave Bate.

I gave a strong team talk, asking for a 5-0, so we could push Durham to make a mistake.
The no 2 singles finished 1st, Lawrence Ormond, with a win for us. 6-1,6-2
The No 1 single finished 10 min later. A great win from Peter Sutton 6-2, 6-1.
The doubles was close game, but the pair Dave Bate and Nick Peall came through 7-5, 6-3. We were well on our way 3-0 up
The reverse doubles proved "the managers team talk" helps, with both pairs ensuring, they got the ball back one more time that the opposition.
Both rubbers were won:
6-3,6-3
6-4,6-0
A superb 5-0 win
Since entering the results, Durham gave Isle of Man a walk over, so that should mean we get promoted.
Well done to all the team players 2016, especially new boys Roy Meddings (captain), Dave Bate, Paul Bradshaw, Ray Fiveash, Derek Jones, Paul Knee, Dave Noyes, Nick Peall, Pete Sutton, John Thomas and +65 who played down - Andy Clifford.
Lets hope for 2B Div next year.
