Registration is now open for the Schools Tennis Road Show 2013, which will be visiting 16 venues across Great Britain in the Spring Term, including Batley on Friday 15th March 2013.
The Road Show, which is run by the Tennis Foundation and is free to attend, aims to provide an overview of all the resource and support available to schools, together with practical ideas for delivering tennis in an education environment.
The Road Show is primarily targeted at the school sport infrastructure including School Games Organisers, School Sport Partnership staff and CSP representatives in England, Active Schools Managers and Co-ordinators in Scotland, and PESS, Dragon Sport and 5 x 60 staff in Wales.
In addition, teachers who deliver tennis or PE are welcome to attend.
The 2013 event kicks off in Bolton on 25th February and finishes at the home of tennis, the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton, on Thursday 21st March.
This year's Road Show will feature information on the new Cardio Tennis Teacher Resource, the new Sainsbury's School Games Inclusive Mini Tennis Red format as well as an overview of the teacher training, resources and equipment available through the Aegon Schools Tennis programme.
This year's attendees will also receive a comprehensive package of resources to support them to attend, including a £50 Schools Tennis equipment voucher, a free top up equipment pack of balls and barrier tape and entry into a prize draw to win a pair of tickets to a British tennis major event in 2013.
The 2012 Road Show was attended by 602 people and a huge 98.7% rated their experience as 'good' or 'excellent'.
Gavin Sutcliffe, said, "The Schools Tennis Road gives our local LTA Tennis Development Team a great opportunity to interact with the school sport infrastructure and teachers that are fundamental in giving young people a positive, first experience of tennis in schools across the county.
"Through the AEGON Schools Tennis programme the Tennis Foundation and LTA have supported over 14,700 schools, trained 26,000 teachers and last year saw over 46,000 young people taking part in schools tennis competitions so there's never been a better time to get involved!"
