Tennis Club Needs Friends

Tuesday, March 19, 2013

Stocksbridge Tennis Club is putting out a plea for people to become Friends or Patrons of the club and help them to renew the tennis courts on Linden Crescent. The club has worked hard to prepare the courts for the works and raise money but still needs further funds to help with their final push to reach their target.  Friend or Patron support will be acknowledged in the club and they’ll be invited to events held during the year or can be anonymous if preferred.  Donate £100 to be a Friend or £250 to be a Patron.

Martin Jackson, Chair of the club says “We want to keep the courts available for a new generation of children and adults not just those who play now, and supporting this community sports club will enable us to do that.  We would particularly like to put out pleas to those who may have a past connection with local tennis or who just want to help us keep these facilities available for the Stocksbridge & Penistone community.  We’ve had a great response so far to our fundraising efforts and would like to thank the Co-op Community Fund, Bridge Community Shop, Penistone Ladies Circle, Tata Steel, Sheffield Town Trust and individuals who have given us grants or donations so far, but we still need more to be able to get all the work done. Donations of £100 or more may be anonymous or published with all those who have made significant contributions to this great effort.”

Anyone interested in becoming a Friend or Patron can donate online through the club’s website www.stocksbridgetennisclub.org.uk/DonateHere.html or post a cheque to Stocksbridge Tennis Club, c/o Chair, Martin Jackson, 18 Rookery Way, Thurgoland, Sheffield. S35 7BX.  Or contact Martin on 07906 516869 or email tennis@stocksbridgetennisclub.org.uk .
