Tennis Circus comes to Stocksbridge

Monday, March 31, 2014

Stocksbridge Tennis Club are starting the tennis season off with a Tennis Circus event on Sunday 6th April that will see former Davis Cup player Danny Sapsford run master classes for members and friends of the club.  The afternoon will finish off with two fun exhibition matches with members of the club playing alongside Danny and another former GB Davis Cup star.  Members of the public are invited to come along from 4pm for tea and cake and to watch the exhibition matches at 5pm.

The event is part of Bright Ideas for Tennis, a charity that supports tennis clubs in the UK by increasing membership numbers, raising participation levels and improving playing facilities.

Chair Martin Jackson says ‘Last year the tennis club successfully fundraised to save and improve the courts and the Tennis Circus event is a great start to the new tennis season.  We’ll be able to get tips and advice from Danny and then we can watch him play and see how it should be done!  The event is also part of our fundraising efforts to pay for floodlighting at the club and we hope that anyone interested will come along, watch some great tennis and help us raise funds. ’

Further information can be found at the club’s website www.stocksbridgetennisclub.org.uk or contact Martin on 07906 516 869 or email tennis@stocksbridgetennisclub.org.uk.
