12 Counties Championships

_Girls

_{The 12 & Under Yorkshire Girls Team of Millie Skelton, Gabriella Lindley, Bella Gibson and Sophie Marshman travelled to Corby to take part in the 12 counties championships on Saturday 14th October.}

_{The format was 4 singles matches against 3 other counties.}

_{First up were Buckinghamshire where Millie and Gabby got the team off to a great start winning their matches in double quick time! Bella had a good win on her county debut against a hard hitting opponent and Sophie came through in 3 sets against an awkward opponent!}

_{Next up were Essex where again Millie and Gabby got the team off to a flier! Bella then secured the win for the team by saving 2 match points and winning her match in 3 sets. Sophie had a tough game against a very good Essex number 4 and lost that match but played well.}

_{Finally we faced Hertfordshire who we knew at 1 and 2 would be more difficult to beat, Millie got the team off to a great start winning against another team GB player in 2 sets, playing some outstanding tennis. Gabriella came through in 3 sets against her opponent who had played some inspired tennis to take the second set off Gabby, but Gabby fought back comfortably winning the match tiebreak. To wrap up a successful day Bella and Sophie then had good wins meaning we had won all our matches and only dropping 1 rubber all day!}

_Boys

_{The 12 & Under Yorkshire Boys Team of Scott Hillerby, Asa Stanley, Owen Lodge and Luke Hoyland travelled to Corby to take part in the 12 counties championships on Saturday 14th October.}

_{The format was 4 singles matches against 3 other counties.}

_{First up were Buckinghamshire where Scott and Asa got the team off to a great start winning their matches! Following on from this another 2 wins for Yorkshire by Owen and Luke.}

_{Next up were Essex where after the first 2 matches it was 1-1! Owen and Luke then secured the win for the team by winning their next 2 matches. Finally we faced Hertfordshire, The team had to fight back after being 2-0 down after the first 2 matches and Yorkshire then came through to win the last 2 matches. To wrap up a successful day Yorkshire can out on top!}
