Mansfield Lawn Tennis Club’s open day was held on 16th May 2015. The event was a great success and attracted over forty juniors and thirty adults. A great morning of tennis was had by all. Attractions included “beat the champ” where visitors had the opportunity to play against a several times winner of the veterans Wimbledon championship and current member of the over 60’s ladies team who won the team singles and doubles world championship this year. Juniors were also able to try their luck at target tennis and win prizes by getting their tennis ball into one of the target hoops.. As always the tombola stall was popular as was the food stall which included a barbeque and cake stand. The day resulted in a number of juniors expressing interest in the club’s Saturday morning juniors programme and adults signing up for the adults beginners classes starting 26th May.
