Success at The British Senior Closed Grass Court Tournament for Maia
Congratulations to Maia Dunn who has won the 40+ Ladies singes event at The British Senior Closed Grass Court tournament which was played at Wimbledon in mid August. Following this win, Maia has been invited to represent GB in October, and we wish her well.
There were several other Notts players taking part in this prestigious grass court tournament.
Tony Alexander and Peter Whitehead reached the semi finals of the 60+ Mens Doubles, losing out to the number 1 seeds and eventual winners of the event in a match tie break.
Likewise Ann Brown and Sue Copestake got to the semis of the 65+ Ladies doubles, losing out to the eventual winners.
Wendy Scalinger won reached the quarter finals of the 70+ Ladies Singles, and Sally Walker played in both the O55 Ladies doubles and singles.
I am sure the referee made our Notts players feel very welcome as it was none other than Richard Joyner.
