Day 1
Berkshire arrived at Windsor LTC with a very young team (3 of whom have another year/18 months left in 12U).
Berkshire 0 – 4 Hertfordshire
All players took time to get rid of their nerves. Unfortunately, with the scoring format set at best of 3 short sets there was very little time to do so.
Essex 1 – 3 Berkshire
Francesca Davis cruised to victory in her second singles match of the day 4-0, 4-0. Kimi Khehra constructed some great points in her singles winning 4-1, 4-1. Catherine Cowper came up against a girl with the best serve in the competition and couldn’t find her rhythm which meant we were 2-1 up going into the doubles. Francesca and Kimi Delivered taking the match and therefore the tie.
Day 2
Middlesex 4 – 0 Berkshire
In the semi-finals we faced a strong Middlesex team who would eventually go on to win the competition. Whilst every player had opportunities to win their singles matches, experience told in the end.
Berkshire 3 – 1 Oxfordshire
The semi-final loss meant we were into the 3rd/4th place playoff against Oxfordshire. Eva Lancaster controlled her opponent throughout to win 4-0, 4-0. Swiftly followed by Kimi Khera putting in her best performance of the weekend to win. Francesca Davis fought hard against her opponent but fell short meaning yet again the doubles match would prove crucial. Davis & Kherha dominated throughout to win the match and secure 3rd place.
