11 East Cheshire clubs were involved in this local winter league, run by Michael Atherfold. This saw an increase on last year, and had a tremendous 71 teams and 353 players involved! The age groups played ranged from 8U – Open. For those clubs who came top in their groups from the matches that took place from September to March, they got to face off in a finals day at Mike’s club, Poynton.
Although it was a rainy day, this didn’t stop play for most teams! It was a great day for all those involved, and the winners and runners up are below.
8&U – Bramhall Lane LTC beat Poynton TC, 12-4
9&U – Bramhall Lane LTC beat Poynton TC, 6-4
10&U – Queensgate beat Prestbury, 6-0
12&U Boys – Bramhall Lane LTC (A Team) beat David Lloyd Cheadle, 3-3 (40-27 on games)
12&U Girls – Brooklands beat Hale, 5-1
14&U Boys – Bramhall Lane LTC beat Hale, 5-1
14&U Girls – Hale beat Hoole, 6-0
16&U Boys – Brabyns beat Poynton TC, 4-2
18&U Boys – no final on the day, but Prestbury won the league overall
18&U Girls – Hale beat Bramhall Lane LTC, 3-0
Men’s Open – TBC between Hoole and Hale
Ladies Open – no final played, and final standings TBC
