Beach Tennis hits Newquay

Strawberries, Pimms, green grass and Wimbledon are normally associated with tennis but for one weekend only Cornwall’s first Beach Tennis Tournament is coming to Newquay.

Tiger24.com and the Lawn Tennis Association Cornwall are hosting a beach tennis tournament and two days of free family fun,

No String’s Attached 2012 on Tolcarne Beach in Newquay on the 21st and 22nd June from 10am.

Top seeded players will compete for a £1000 prize purse with £500 in the men’s’ doubles and £500 in the mixed doubles. Free coaching and free family tennis, with a chance to win a weekend at the Hotel Victoria, will give everyone the opportunity not only to watch but to participate in the two days. All equipment will be provided free of charge and free coaching sessions by LTA qualified instructors will be available from 11am.

The weekend sponsored by the Hotel Victoria is in support of the LTA’s All Play initiative to inspire the next generation into sport, the true ethos behind Britain hosting the Olympics. Cornwall was the first place in the country to host the Olympic torch and initiatives like this help to bring the games closer to communities outside of London.

There are still available spaces for teams please enter online www.nsabeachtennis.co.uk
