12-year old Oshi Leverton of Newquay recently won his first National tennis title at the AEGON Clay Court Championships at Queenswood, Hertfordshire . The AEGON Clay Court Championships is dubbed the ‘Spring Nationals’ as it is the only other junior Grade 1 competition in the summer season for the 14&U and 12&U age groups.
Oshi attends Newquay Tretherras School and trains 22 hours per week with the LevertonWilliams Tennis Academy at Bodmin and Plymouth. Oshi and partner Finn Bass of Millfield School, Somerset were victorious against opponents from all over the UK beating Scotttish No1 pair Cameron Bowie and George Baird in the final 6-2 6-4 .
Currently the U12s No9 in GB he has consistently been ranked in the Top 10 in the country for the last 4 years. He is also ranked the No1 U12s and No1 U14s player in Cornwall. Oshi travels extensively to compete and trains both in the UK and La Manga, Spain. Oshi is very proud to be sponsored by ‘Babolat ‘ who also sponsor his hero Rafael Nadal.
