Our Over 65’s Tennis Team travelled to Glasgow to play West of Scotland on Tuesday 28th July. The match which was played at Newlands Lawn Tennis Club proved to be the most competitive to date.
Although the Devon team all played extremely well, West of Scotland eventually won in what was a close match. At the end of the day the rubbers were two all, five sets to four and thirty-four games to thirty-one.
The Devon ladies should be very proud of their performance as it transpired that two of the Scottish team will be travelling to Croatia in September to represent Great Britain in the World Championships!
The Devon ladies were represented by Ann Louis, Exmouth (Captain), Anne Tait (Budleigh Salterton), Jenny Doig (Barnstaple) and Sue Doncaster (Bideford).
