Our boys team of Joel While, Fred James, Bradley Phillips and Ben Greatrex under the guidance of team coach Simon Huddart from Exeter Tennis Centre, almost pulled off a magnificent win at the recent 12 & Under County Cup Regional Stage at Taunton.
Avon proved their nemesis in an otherwise hugely successful weekend which saw them defeating Cornwall 4-0, Somerset 4-0 and the Channel Islands 4-0. The final with Avon came down to a match deciding tie break in the doubles which Devon unfortunately lost 4-10.
Avon march on to represent the South West at the national finals on the 14th and 15th of July.
Team coach Simon Huddart said: "It was a fantastic weekend and I couldn't have asked anymore from the players. The boys will be disappointed in not being able to make the finals but can be very pleased with their efforts."
