AEGON Pro-Series £50K event, 05-11 October 2009 at the Tarka Tennis Centre, Barnstaple. Tickets on sale from 22 May 2009.
The new AEGON Pro-Series represents both men's and women's events taking place in Britain, with prize money ranging from $10k to $75k and valuable world ranking points on offer.
Barnstaple is one of the top ladies AEGON Pro-Series Tournaments, with a prize pot this year of $50k. This will help attract some of the best British and overseas players from the Sony Ericson WTA Tour.
In 2008, the Tournament showcased a superb selection of players including 5 of the top 10 British ranked players, along with the current Wimbledon Junior Champion and 2009 Australian Open Junior Finalist, Laura Robson.
The current Champion and holder of the Dartington Vase is the British No 1, Anne Keothavong.
This level of competition also features many of the world’s up and coming players who often progress to compete on the main ATP and WTA Tours. It is also a breeding ground for Britain’s best young players to learn their trade against strong and often experienced international opposition
