A welcome increase in entrants in the veterans' events and some great tennis played by all, helped to make this year's County Championships a great event.
In the men's singles Jack Findel-Hawkins took his third consecutive title by defeating Dave Palmer. Jack took the first set 6-2 but Dave fought back in the second taking Jack to a tie-break which Jack won to take the set 7-6. Partnered by Andrew Norton, Jack also won the Men's Doubles title overcoming Dave Palmer and Justin Kraushar 7-6 6-2
In the ladies semi final Kendal beat Rebecca Ley 6-1 6-3 to set up a repeat of last year's final against Emma Hurst. Kendal got off to a great start taking the first set 6-0. The second set was much closer as Emma got to grips with the clay surface. With both players showing great shot making, the set eventually went to a tie break, where a couple of great drop shots at key moments made the difference. Final score 6-0 7-6 to Kendal.
"To win the singles in 2010 knowing no one had managed to win the title 3 consecutive years was very special,so to have won 6 now is amazing." said Kendal. 
Kendal also won the ladies doubles for the 6th year, teaming up with Kate brown to beat Emma Hurst and Isabella Brown 6-3 6-3, and missed out on the mixed title with new partner Buzz Avis losing to no.1 seeds Kate Brown and Andrew Norton, 7-6 6-7 10-5.
