The girls U12 county team consisting of Cara Todd, Ellie Tweddle, Cheri Darley and Lily Spensley travelled to Warrington for the Aegon County Cup. The group which was extremely tough and had players that had represented Great Britain, was going to be a challenge for our girls.
Day one- Saturday 28th June
We started against the strongest team over the weekend which was Lancashire and then played Derbyshire later that day. Despite some great matches we lost to Lancashire 4-0 and then managed to bounce back after a short break and beat Derbyshire 4-0.
Day two- 29th June
The girls were all set and ready for another tough day of tennis. We started against a strong Cheshire team and we just lost 3-1, a great win for Cheri and Cara was involved in the match off the weekend. Match number four was against another very strong team in Yorkshire in which all the girls fought for every single point, an amazing effort from 4 lovely girls.
A great weekend of tennis and one very proud coach, well done Cara, Ellie, Cheri and Lily.
