As part of the County Closed we held "The Quorn Family Cup" on Thursday 27th August starting at 6pm. We had 9 pairs, 8 pairs were from the club Yarm TC where the county closed was being held, 2 had been competitors in the event, one was one of the scorers helping at the mini tennis events and seen the advert, and we had 1 pair, in fact they ended up the winners that were from another club, Cameron having played in the event and was the 12U champion. As we held it on Thursday evening we had a 3 hour slot as our floodlights go off at 9pm, so we played sets to 4 with sudden death deuce all playing everyone. We had tea and cakes and the other half’s not playing all enjoyed a sociable evening with younger brothers and sisters being at the club as well. The final photo was taken at 2 mins to 9 as the lights went out. We had 3 pairs that were much stronger than the rest but it didn’t seem to bother anyone, all had a good laugh and enjoyed.
