Hampshire’s Esther Adeshina was crowned the winner at the recently concluded 18U Girls Invitational Winter National Tour Finals that was held at the National Tennis Centre Roehampton between 5th – 7th February 2016.

14 year old Esther was the youngest player competing in the tournament and won the event without dropping a set and defeating the No. 1, No. 4 and No. 2 seeds along the way. Esther defeated Berkshire’s Megan Forster 6-4 6-1 and the top seed, Olivia Peet from Lancashire, 6-2 6-4 in the first round and quarter-finals respectively.  She took out Kent’s Sasha Hill 7-5 6-0 in the semi-finals before defeating Number 2 seed, 17 year old Sofie Woon from Yorkshire 6-4  6-3 in the final to claim the title.

Esther had just returned from a 2-week trip in January 2016 to Nairobi , Kenya where she had competed in two ITF 18 & Under Junior Circuit tournaments reaching the semi-finals of the singles and the finals of the doubles over the two weeks and seen her ITF junior rankings move up 200+ places.
