2012 saw Lymington Tennis Club's Super Series enter its 6th year and was host to some excellent tennis as always. Josh Royan came out on top in the 10 event series, winning 28 of his 30 matches. The Mini Green player won a sort after first prize of a new racket, bag bundle and more. The promising 15 year old player, Stian Busswell took 2nd place closely behind Josh. Stian attends two groups a week at Lymington Tennis and said this was key in his performance in this years event. 3rd place was taken by the talented squad player Jules Holden who only missed out on 2nd by 5 games.
The Mini Red edition of the series which runs separately to the rest of the ages saw over twenty players compete for the title with Sam Griffths being successful. Sam who is 7, plays twice a week and 2012 saw a massive improvement in his game. Close behind Sam in 2nd & 3rd was Max Reggio & Oakley Sparshott Thompson.
Congratulations goes to the 90 players who competed in the series regularly and this year’s event saw one of the biggest turnouts across the age groups, meeting tournament organiser Adam Falla of having over 50 players competing in 4 or more events. A special mention goes to mini orange Angus Walker who was the only other player to compete in every event. When discussing this years Super Series Adam Falla said “I am delighted with the success of this years event both in terms of level of play and the numbers of juniors which are competing right down to mini red level”
Many thanks goes to Wendy Perring & PAD (Perring Architecture & Design) for sponsoring the series. The sponsorship from local companies like PAD, which is based in the Angel Courtyard Lymington, is essential to fund the prizes for the event which includes rackets, shoes and racket bags. We are proud to announce that PAD has committed to sponsor the 2013 Super Series.
