The Portsmouth Tennis Academy’s Schools Roadshow over the summer term has been a great success, with PTA coaches attending more than 15 schools - delivering tennis within their curriculum time. This summer’s Roadshow culminated in a Free Tennis Bonanza event open to all children aged 10 and under. This was a FUN, tennis skills, racket and ball skills session – with rallying, ball games and displays included. An exceptional 90 children attended the Bonanza on a Saturday afternoon, and the Centre was buzzing with excitement for the full two hours!
Dave Watt, PTA Coach and Bonanza coordinator, was amazed at the high number of young players that came along. All had a great time, and the Academy’s coaches look forward to meeting many of the players at other tennis sessions in the future. Dave would also like to thank all the staff who came along to assist with the smooth running of the event - a great team effort!

The PTA coaches were assisted by secondary school aged Academy players and young LTA Tennis Leaders. Prizes, including future free sessions, were also given out on the day - along with summer and September activity information.
