After nearly 7 months of group matches, the finals of The 12&U Chiltern League took place on Sunday, 5th June at Gosling Sports Park.
The semi-final line up was St. Albans 'A' v St. Albans 'B' and Legends Tennis UK v Northaw & Cuffley LTC. Each team had 2 boys and 2 girls in who all played 1 singles and 1 doubles match. The first match was won 6-0 by St. Albans 'A' and the other was 3-all after the six matches, with Legends going through 6-5 on sets won.
The final saw some excellent tennis, enjoyed by a sizeable crowd, with Legends Tennis UK coming out the eventual winners by 4-2.
Application forms for the 2011/12 league will be available shortly, via the Herts LTA website, so please consider entering a team from your club or centre, giving your young players the chance for some competitive team tennis during the winter months.
