Herts juniors notched up another success on Sunday 25th March, by winning The Hildon 12 Counties Championships for the first time since 1999.
This tournament, which has been running at Corby Indoor Tennis Centre for over 20 years now, is a county team event spread over the winter months and involving teams from 10&U, 12&U, 14&U, 16&U and 18&U ages. The event is organised by the centre's manager Craig Haworth and he said after the final 16&U event had taken place on Sunday:
''A huge congratulation to Herts for winning Division 1 this year – it is the first time for a number of years that Yorkshire have been toppled into second place, but I am sure sleeves will be rolled up ready for the start of next years campaign. Herts were consistently strong in every age group, winning 6 of the 10 age groups and opened up an unasailable lead after the first two age groups''.
