ALBANY TENNIS NEWS by Pat Sharp

Thursday, November 15, 2018

This Friday and Saturday our Friday Morning Ladies group are supporting Children in Need with the sale of Pudsey Bear cakes. Please call in on Friday to enjoy Jan’s baking and make a donation! Parents of the Mini members who will be at coaching on Saturday please remember to bring your spare cash and help Albany raise a lot of money for children who are far worse off than ours. Yes - the usual Mini Red coaching will be on this Saturday from 12pm-2pm.

Charlotte Clarke (13), our Road to Wimbledon Champion, was invited, with her mother Diane and her coach Ian Watson to Government House on Tuesday for afternoon tea. She enjoyed talking to HE Lt Governor Sir Richard and Lady Gozney, who is a keen tennis player, about her win at Wimbledon and tennis and sport in general. Roch Mirski, an Albany member who was semi-finalist in the Road to Wimbledon was unable to attend.

I am hoping all members who have not yet registered with the LTA’s British Tennis Membership scheme will do so by this weekend and e-mail their BTM number to me. The club has to be registered with the LTA by 30th November for insurance purposes and I need accurate BTM numbers. All Junior and Adult members with a BTM no. are eligible to opt in to next year’s Wimbledon ballot.

We have some Albany LTC polo shirts for sale on Saturday at a special price. A new Auxesia Ltd design is being printed therefore we must to make room in the store.
