Charnwood LTC’s Women’s Summer League campaign enjoyed an exciting start on Sunday as the third team faced the challenge of the fourth team who gained promotion without losing a match last season. After four hours of competitive tennis the fourth team ran out winners by 5-4.
Joan Williams, fourth team captain, was understandably thrilled with her team’s efforts and hopes that this indicates that they will be pushing hard to gain promotion for the second successive year.
All other teams begin their campaigns after the early May bank holiday.
