Leicestershire Mens County Cup team have retained their position in division 3 of the Mens Winter County Cup.
The Leicestershire team led by Tom Kisiel consisting of Ben Mullis, Connor Glennon, Jonny Cloke, Jack Simpson, Paul Nicholls and Chris Egan Morriss (debut).
The team beat East of Scotland on the first day 7-2 with notable wins for Ben Mullis at number 1 and Chris Egan Morriss in his first match pairing Jack Simpson in the doubles.
The 2nd day saw a great team performance with the team taking a 6-2 lead before the last doubles was conceded.
Going into the last day Leicestershire faced a very strong Sussex side in a winner takes all promotion battle, Chris Egan Morris going down narrowly 6-4 in the deciding set in what proved to be a crucial rubber as the Leicestershire side only picked up one of the six singles with a very impressive performance from Connor Glennon.
Captain Tom Kisiel said, "once again the lads have done themselves and the county proud, we currently have a great team spirit and its great to see Chris make his first of what we hope will be many appearances for the Mens county team."
