Road to Wimbledon 2011

Winners and several runner ups of Road to Wimbledon Grade 5 Club Tournaments were invited to play in the County Road to Wimbledon Grade 4 Tournament.

All the boys played 4 matches on Saturday and Sunday; the girls played 3 matches on Sunday. 

Second seed Andrew Isaac was too strong for Top seed Henry Beesley in the Boys final.  Stroke making and rallying surprised and delighted the watching crowd who showed their appreciation with generous applause. Henry’s time will come. 

For the second year Katy Darke will be on her way to the National Finals in the week of 15 to 20 August.  She was too strong for her Club friend and rival Lydia Walker and defeated her 4-2 4-0. 

Let’s hope Henry and Lydia get to Wimbledon also and they all report back on a great week on the court and off it.
